Bishop Mulakkal Impact: Church shuns 4 Kerala nuns

Kottayam: There seems to be no end to the misery the nuns have to go through who protested against rape-accused Bishop Franco Mulakkal. Four of the five nuns who protested against the bishop have been shunted by the church bodies on Wednesday.

The congregation has decided to shun the sisters who had collectively decided to protest against the arrest of Bishop Franco. These sisters have been even asked to leave the Kuravilangad convent.

Bishop Mulakkal, who on October 16 came out on bail from a Kerala jail, a day after being granted conditional bail, is facing allegations of repeatedly raping a nun of his own congregation, a charge that he has categorically denied.
