Two years after 'demonetisation disaster' country yet to recover: AP CM
Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu Thursday dubbed demonetisation a disaster and claimed the country had still not overcome the economic 'setback' caused by the BJP government's 'hasty' decisions.

"Implemented in the name of destroying black money, demonetisation succeeded in destroying employment, markets, business, liquidity and economic growth, he said in a tweet on the second anniversary of the ban on currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 denominations.
"Two years after the demonetisation disaster, the county has so far not overcome the economic setback caused by the hasty decisions of the BJP government," he added.
Naidu, who was with the NDA in 2016, had then welcomed the exercise and even claimed credit for it, saying he had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking scrapping of the high-value currency notes.
He had then described the move as a major step forward towards wiping out black money, though he made flip-flops later.
