New Delhi: Indian Council of Cultural Relations will be celebrating World Culture Day on 21st May by organizing its first Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhayay Memorial International Oration, which would be delivered by External affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj.

Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, President of ICCR addressed a press conference on Thursday to introduce some of the new initiatives by ICCR, which involves providing international platform to tribal community, artisans and traditional crafts people of the country. ICCR would be celebrating their lives, work, culture and values at a bigger level in order to promote these communities. External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj, will deliver the inaugural oration in this series for year 2018 on the subject of 'Soft Power Diplomacy: Strength of India' to commemorate World Culture Day.
ICCR is also planning to organize an International Seminar in New York on 21st of June which is International Yoga Day for a comprehensive study about Yoga and to enhance the understanding of yoga amongst the people all across the world.
When asked about maintaining cultural relations with China, Riva Ganguly Das, Director General of ICCR, said that it is an ongoing process for which ICCR has some structured cultural arrangements with China.
