Kuldeep Yadav creates world record against Ireland
Dublin: Kuldeep Yadav started his English tour in a brilliant fashion, registering a world record to his name. It feels like he has adapted well to the conditions with a four-wicket haul against Ireland in the opening T20 in Malahide on Wednesday.
Yadav's impressive performance also imposed that India's easy 76-run win over Ireland on Wednesday was down to hosts' inability to play spin properly.
Dubbed as dress rehearsal for the England series, the formidable Indian team outbatted the opposition.
India scored an imposing 208 for five, courtesy openers Rohit Sharma (97 off 61 balls) and Shikhar Dhawan (74 off 45 balls).
In reply, Ireland could only manage 132/9 in 20 overs despite a breezy innings of 60 off 35 balls by opener James Shannon.
Irish batsmen didn’t have a clue how to play chinaman Kuldeep Yadav (4/21 in 4 overs). His partner in crime Yuzvendra Chahal was hit for four sixes but eventually ended with improved figures of 3 for 38 in his four overs spell.
The highlight of this performance was that Yadav now has 16 wickets in T20 internationals. Getting past Michael Rippon, the Dutch-South African cricketer's record of most wickets in T20Is(15) as a left-arm chinaman.
