Dehradun: Amid slogans of 'Bharat mata ki jai' people paid last respects to Major Vibhuti Shankar Dhoundiyal on Tuesday at his house on Nashville Road in Dehradun.

Last tributes paid to Major Dhoundiyal in Dehradun

Family members along with army officials and political leaders paid tributes to the mortal remains of Major Dhoundiyal who was killed in an encounter with Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militants in Pulwama on Monday.

Three other Army men were killed in the Pulwama encounter after the killing of 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers in a suicide attack in Jammu and Kashmir last week.

Major Dhoundiyal got married a year ago and survived by his mother, grandmother, and three sisters, besides his wife. He joined the Army in 2011 and leading a unit of Rashtriya Rifles which was posted near the Line of Control in Jammu & Kashmir.
