New Delhi: Hinting at party's top agenda for 2019 Lok Sabha elections ahead of the start of party's national council meet BJP leader Subramanian Swamy stated that Ram temple will be built soon.
Supreme Court deferred the date for Ayodhya matter hearing till January 29
Speaking to ETV Bharat on Friday Swamy said, "Ram temple issue will be party's major agenda in the National Council meet and all efforts will be made to push the government for expediting Ram temple construction."
Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had suggested that any decision on an ordinance on Ram temple in Ayodhya can happen only after the completion of the judicial process. On Thursday, the Supreme Court deferred the date for Ayodhya matter hearing till January 29.
Swamy also highlighted the need to reanimate the party after losing in the state assembly elections. He said, "After the party's defeat the spirit needs to be rejuvenated."
The BJP lost assembly elections in MP, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh where it was in power and had poor show in other two states of Mizoram and Telangana.
He said that the coming elections are very important. When asked whether he is confident about winning it, he replied "absolutely".
BJP's two-day national council meeting started on Friday morning. The party is looking forward to set the tone for its 2019 Lok Sabha poll campaign.
