Mumbai: Members of Congress women wing in Mumbai on Thursday protested in support of actress Tanushree Dutta, who accused Nana Patekar of harassing her ten years ago.

The women wing demanded justice for former Miss India. They raised the slogan, "We want justice".

The women protesters also demanded the arrest of Nana Patekar.

One of the protestor said, "We stand with Tanushree. Whatever happened with her was not correct."

"We will continue our protest if police did not take action against the culprit," she added.

Bollywood celebrities have also come out in support of Tanushree. Farhan Akhtar, Swara Bhasker, Richa Chadha have taken to their social media handles to support the actress.

On the other hand, Tanushree's allegation against Nana, has sparked a #MeToo storm in India, with women from all quarters coming forward to share their own horrible experiences at their workplace.

  • Tanushree Dutta has alleged Patekar of sexually harassing her during the filming of a song sequence in 2008 released film 'Horn OK Pleasssss'.
  • She also accused producer Samee Siddiqui, director Rakesh Narang and some MNS party workers of teaming up against her.
  • Mumbai Police has started an investigation regarding an FIR lodged by Tanushree Dutta against Nana Patekar.
  • The FIR was lodged under sections 353 and 503 of the Indian Penal Code on October 10.
