India in England: Kuldeep's mystery creates history

England: India's chinaman Kuldeep Yadav was at his best as he recorded his career's best ODI figures (6/25) against England in Trent Bridge, On Thursday.

In the ongoing 1st ODI between England and India, Kuldeep ran riots on English top and middle order and bagged six wickets in his alloted 10 overs.

Kuldeep sent back England openers Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow, who gave good start to their team and scored 38 runs each.
Later, Joe Root (3), Ben Stokes (50), Jos Buttler (53) and Davil Willey (1) also become victims of the spinner.

Interestingly, it is Kuldeep's first five-wicket haul in ODI.

Here are some other milestones achieved by the spinner, on Thursday:

-Kuldeep recorded best figures by any left-arm spinner in ODIs beating his countryman Murali Karthik, who picked 6/27 against Australia in 2007.

-Kuldeep becomes the first Indian to take five-for against England in England.
-Kuldeep recorded fourth best figures for India in ODI after Stuart Binny, Anil Kumble and Ashish Nehra.

-The chinaman also becomes the first ever left-arm wrist-spinner to take six wickets in an ODI.

-The 23-year-old also recorded best figures by a spinner in England in ODIs:

  • 6/25 KULDEEP
  • 5/11 S Afridi v Kenya, Edgabston, 2004
  • 5/18 A Symonds v Bangladesh, Manchester, 2005
  • 5/27 A Rashid v Ireland, Bristol, 2017
