Khon Kaen (Thailand): Thailand police Thursday said they have arrested an HIV-infected soldier who allegedly blackmailed and raped more than 70 teenage boys.

The soldier - a 43 year old sergeant-major - is accused of using fake social media profiles on Facebook and the gay dating app Blued to win the trust of his victims.

He's said to have persuaded the teenagers to send him nude photos, then threatened to make the photos public unless they had sex with him.

Speaking in the northeastern town of Khon Kaen where the suspect was arrested, a police chief said there could be more victims and urged them to come forward.

"Social workers are assisting in the investigation. I want to let minors who are victims know that they should contact the superintendent at Nam Pong Police Station, which has jurisdiction over this case. However, the crime occurred in many jurisdictions and victims of this crime are from across the country," Surachate Hakparn, acting immigration police chief said.
