In showbiz, it is apparently not easy to emerge out of failure. Usually when it takes years for people to figure out what went wrong, Pari took a 10-month-break to reinvent herself and how. The actress bounced back with a better and fitter version of herself.
On her birthday, EenaduIndia looks back at how wonderfully Parineeti worked upon her shortcomings.
When three of her films tanked at the box office, Parineeti paid heed to the sign that she needs to change something about herself. And she did change herself for the good.
To retain the interest of people in her when she was not seen on screens for a long time must have been difficult. Since behind this face of glitz and glamour lays a ruthless world where visibility is very important for any talent who thrives to survive in the industry. But, her fans apparently did not give up on the talent that she is. Hence she pulled up the sleeves and rigorously worked towards getting back in the game.
Even after delivering duds like 'Shuddh Desi Romance', 'Daawat-e-Ishq', 'Kill Dil' and 'Meri Pyaari Bindu', Parineeti was apparently not written off.
The actress in an interview decoded why people still kept faith in her. The actress said that the equity she had created in the first two-three years was strong enough to keep her in the game even if she had no releases for good two years.
Though she does not like the word 'makeover' her transformation is definitely one of those few drastic ones that B-town has ever seen.
Right form her debut, the one thing that Parineeti was admired for was the unique spark that made her so attractive and relatable on screen. But it seems that she never fear to lose that connect before she decided upon changing her image from a 'girl-next-door' to a glamorous diva.
While her contemporaries like Alia Bhatt and Shraddha Kapoor moved ahead in their careers, Pari took two steps back to prepare her self for a big leap.
Yash Raj Films, the banner which is known for backing the talents that they launch and giving them multiple chances, was ready to provide Chopra a much-needed opportunity – 'Meri Pyaari Bindu'. Pari's comeback vehicle did not deliver at the box office. But, she broke the jinx with masala entertainer 'Golmaal Again'.
Seemingly, 2018 apparently was not meant to end on a happy note for the actor whose latest release 'Namaste England' opened to a lukewarm response at the box office. Needless to say, the commercial failure of Vipul Shah's directorial would again raise the question if Parineet is still a bankable star?
Next for her is 'Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar', again a Yash Raj production. While film's director Dibakar Banerjee is facing the heat of #MeToo movement, now what stand Parineeti, her co-star Arjun Kapoor and the esteemed banner will take is highly anticipated.
However, with 'Kesari' and 'Jabariya Jodi', it seems that Parineeti will begin calling the tune once again.
