Hyd airport officials seize trolley bags with gold hidden in frames

Hyderabad: The Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) on Thursday arrested two passengers from the Hyderabad Airport for allegedly smuggling three kg gold hidden in the frames of trolley bags.

Three kg gold worth Rs 1 crore was found hidden inside the frames

Acting upon intelligence, officials at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport arrested the two passengers who had arrived here from Dubai. Around three kg gold, valued to be worth Rs one crore, was found hidden inside the frames of the duo's trolley bags.

Upon questioning the two, officials reportedly received critical information, which led to the arrest of three more individuals from the city in connection with the case.

Customs officials are now reportedly on the lookout for the alleged mastermind of the smuggling racket, who is believed to be a Dubai resident.
