Man shot dead by unidentified assailants in Haryana

Gurugram: Three unidentified armed assailants on Wednesday night shot dead a ‘numberdar’ of Manesar panchayat in Haryana, police said. The incident took place in Manesar town at a distance of half a kilometer from the police station.

The assailants fled from the spot.

The deceased was identified as Sumer Singh (52), a retired Army officer.

According to the locals, around 7:30 pm the miscreants came on an Apache bike with all their faces covered at IMT chowk. They shot more than 12 bullets at Singh who was driving back to his house on a scooty.

Furious over the incident, locals have refused to accept the body and demanded police to arrest the accused immediately.

Police investigation is underway.
